Since installations began this past summer, the following stations have been installed and are available for use:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Northern Rockies Regional Municipality \u2013 Fort Nelson Rec Centre<\/li>\n<li>Prince George \u2013 Aquatic Centre, Canfor Leisure Pool, Prince George Civic and Conference Centre, and the Prince George Public Library (Bob Harkins Branch)<\/li>\n<li>Stellat\u2019en First Nation<\/li>\n<li>Vanderhoof \u2013 between the 7-11 and Co-op<\/li>\n<li>Masset \u2013 Village Office<\/li>\n<li>McBride \u2013 Robson Valley Rec Centre and Steve Kolida Park<\/li>\n<li>Valemount \u2013 Canoe Valley Rec Centre<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Installation of EV chargers is underway and expected to be completed this month in Sandspit, Daajing Gids, Prince Rupert, Terrace, Fort St. John, Sun Peaks, Ashcroft, and Barriere.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining Charge North stations will be installed in 2023. These include stations in Gitlaxt\u2019aamiks, Gitwinksihlkw, Laxgalts'ap, Gingolx, Stewart, Hazelton, Kitimat, Granisle, Smithers, Burns Lake, Houston, Prince George, Quesnel, 100 Mile House, and Logan Lake.<\/p>\n<h4><span data-contrast=\"auto\">First Charge North EV Charging Station Comes Online<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>September 29, 2022<\/p>\n<p>The first Charge North station is also the northernmost! Locations have been confirmed, and the Charge North RFP\/Procurement Committee is now in the process of selecting a contractor to manage the installations. The successful contractor will select the station manufacturer, design the sites, manage installations, coordinate network services, and confirm warranty and operations support for all sites.<\/p>\n<p>We anticipate that charging station installation will start in the spring of 2022 and continue into 2023 if needed. In the meantime, Charge North communities are receiving information and communication materials from the contractor and from Community Energy Association. The grant will support 55 Level 2 EV station in 25 <em>Charge North<\/em> communities.<\/p>\n<p>Charge North is an inspiring example of collaborative leadership \u2013 six regional districts and 43 municipalities, Indigenous communities and Northern BC Tourism, working together to address greenhouse gas emissions from transportation while supporting economic development and enhancing tourism opportunities.
